About UsThe Kansas Citizens for the Arts, a nonprofit organization comprised of individuals and businesses who care about the future of our state, is working to build that support among the public, community leadership and elected officials.Kansas Citizens for the Arts believes that the arts:Stimulate economic development and community infrastructure - for every public dollar invested in the arts in Kansas, $9 are returned in state and local revenues* Prepare students for the 21st century by teaching innovative thinking, problem solving and collaborative skills Build bridges among communities and people Improve the quality of life in Kansas communities by increasing civic engagement. *Information provided by the Kansas Arts Commission.AdvocacyKansas Citizens for the ArtsHosts advocacy activities such as the annual Arts Day at the Capitol Provides information to the public on arts advocacy Hosts a communications network that informs Kansas arts advocates on impending legislation and actions that affect arts and arts education funding Informs candidates and elected officials on the value and importance of the arts Supports best practices in advocacy through workshops and presentations. |
