Comprehensive School Reform Models
In September 2000, the Office of Educational Research and Improvement awarded $37 million to 15 groups to improve and expand their national CSR models. To qualify, the groups had to show their models are operating successfully in at least 15 schools and that there is a significant unmet demand for their services. http://www.ed.gov/offices/OERI/capacity.html These schools include strong arts education programs and have been cited by the U.S. Department of Education as exemplary models.
